My personal journey
to healing.
“When the mind is present in the heart, we call it happiness.” - Chinese saying
As a child of only eight years old I was already fascinated by Traditional Medicine practices, and by my teens it had become a hobby. I studied and experimented with the effects of diet, herbs, and various physical techniques on the mind and body, and examined possibilities for formal education in these areas. By my early 20’s in Montreal, Canada, however, I had become completely distracted by the allure of sudden success in an unrelated business. I was enjoying early financial prosperity, an important long-term relationship, and I had all the appearances of "success". In actuality, I was overworking myself, neglecting my authentic self, and quickly burning out. I also had a plethora of chronic health complaints that seemed to be getting worse, despite frequent medical interventions. At the age of 28, my health forced me to take a prolonged absence from work. It was during this time that I resolved to live with greater balance, use my knowledge, re-connect to my passion, and move toward my true calling. I radically changed the way I lived and worked and began the foundation for a major life change, finding health and joy along the way.
In 2006 at the age of 34, I gave up a very successful career; a world-renown business that I had built from scratch, to pursue full-time studies in various systems of natural medicine, spiritual practice, and esoteric healing modalities. It was finally time to transform what had been a lifelong hobby and personal passion, into my full-time vocation. It was perhaps the best decision of my life.
Over 15+ years and more than 30 countries later including five years living in two different small rural Zen temples in Southern Japan; my quest has taken me around the world including extended periods living, studying, working, and volunteering in Asia, Latin America, and India. It’s been an incredible journey!
Along the way, at various times, I have had the good fortune of encountering a few very special healers and teachers, whose abilities challenged all of my rational comprehension. Through these experiences, and through their guidance, I began to understand and expand on my own innate skills, some of which extend radically outside the realm of conventional healing and book-based knowledge.
I cautiously accept this aspect of my path, and seek to integrate it fully into a balanced and rational world view and a comprehensive, evolving, global approach to healing and wellbeing.
On this journey, I have had experiences I could never have imagined, grown in directions I could not have expected, and in the process discovered resilient health and a pervading sense of joy, calm, and purpose that is the foundation of each day, and something I hope to pass on to everyone I meet.
It’s time now to bring together my experiences, knowledge, and passions into a life of service and intentionality. Whether in a live personalized session, online session, or at one of the retreats I facilitate; i’m here to help you discover and develop your best self.
This is a journey that never ends. I hope you will join me!
Onward. Inward. Upward...
